الأدب المقارن بين المدرستين الأمريكية والفرنسية

لا تأخذ المواجهة بين المدرستين الأمريكية والفرنسية في الأدب المقارن معناها التاريخي إلا في أضيق الحدود، ذلك أن مسوّغ وجود كلتا المدرستين ـــ ثقافيا وإيديولوجيا ـــ هو الأصل الذي قام عليه المشروع المقارني لديهما جميعا. إنْ تكن المدرسة الفرنسية استهلت هذا المراس ونظّرت له، فإنها ــــ بالمنظور الأمريكي ــــ لا تحتكر مرجعياته ولا تنفرد بفلسفاته، لأنه تجربة إنسانية اختارت الأدبَ بوابةً لها، واختارت المقارنة منهجا كان سيوجد في كل أرضية هيّاَتْ له ظروفه. وإن تكن المدرسة الأمريكية ـــ بالمنظور الفرنسي ــــ امتدّت في الأفق الثقافي العام، بحيث صار لها متّكآت ومناطق نفوذ، فإن لها منطلقا أوربيا فاعلا في وجودها، وفي انتشارها، يَحُدُّ من إرادة هيمنتها.

Résumé

L'affront franco-américain en littérature comparée ne prend sens, historiquement, que dans une mesure

strictement restreinte, en ceci que les sous-bassements idéo-culturels des deux écoles ne souffrent pas vraiment

de mitoyenneté. Si l'école française a bien entamé la pratique comparatiste et l'a théorisée selon sa vision de la

littérature, cela ne lui donne nullement – du point de vue américain – le droit au contrôle du fait comparatiste ni

ne l'érige en référent. Pour l'école française, la démarche américaine, même influente pour des raisons pas

toujours culturelles, doit rester redevable aux pratiques européennes qui lui ont servi de socle et dont elle tient

ses ajouts et certaines de ses influences.

Summary

The french-american affront in matters of comparative litterature takes on its full meaning, historically

speaking, only to a strictly and limited extent in the fact that both ideological and cultural bases of the two

schools are not really confronted by convergence.

If the French school has well initiated and theorized its comparative approach, according to its own vision

of litterature, this would not give it, from the American point of view, the right to have control over the

comparative approach nor reinforce its position as a referent.

For the French school, the American approach although it is influential for reasons that are not always

cultural,it should remain indebted to European practices as they served as the bases for its ideology .
