نبذه عن الكتاب:
Objective of the study: this study aims at assessing the level of readability of
"Our Beautiful Language" course book among the fourth graders.
The study tool: a Cloze Test, reading comprehension skills’ test that was
refereed by experts of Arabic language teaching methods.
The study sample: The study sample consisted of (222) students from the
primary fourth grade in Rafah, of which 100 male students and 122 female
students spread over six classes in six schools. The sample of teaching
subjects consisted of (3) reading texts from the book "Our Beautiful
Language" for fourth graders.
Research methodology: the researcher used descriptive approach to achieve
the objectives of the study.
The most important findings of the study:
1. The reading texts of Our beautiful Language book have a frustrational
reading level.
2. There were no statistically significant differences at (a =0.05) in the
degree of readability of Our Beautiful Language book of the fourth
primary grade attributed to the variable gender.
The most important recommendations of the study:
1. Adopting readability among the specifications of the textbooks in general,
and the Arabic language books, in particular, so that a book shall not
prescribed unless its degree of readability is approved.
2. Training teachers to assess the readability of textbooks so as to avoid the
mistakes in them and to contribute to its development.
